The paper is focused on Rompizales I, a field of pits located near Burgos. The site was digged by commercial archaeologists in 2002. The excavation has discovered pits but also unusual evidence in Northern Iberia as a ditch, postholes, hearths and ovens. A relevant aspect, in Rompizales I an accumulative stratigraphic sequence was registered in several sondages. The excavation team has interpreted the site as a seasonal habitat linked to a pastoralist community from Chalcolithic (Bell-Beaker). A review of the archaeological record from Rompizales I have provided new evidence that allow us to discuss the original interpretation and to propose a new one.
