Gold and Silks: A Study of the Art of Embroidery in Domestic and Court Spaces (16th century)

The textiles displayed in domestic and court spaces of the 16th century could receive embroidered ornamentation. Made on different supports and with different technical procedures, these works were made by professional embroiderers and by women of different social class to decorate some textiles whose study allows deepening in the knowledge of the characteristics and functions of this artistic discipline.
