Abstract

Review of the book Literatura, teatro e inteligencia artificial (Madrid, Verbum, 2026), by José Romera Castillo (ed.).

The collective volume Literatura, teatro e inteligencia artificial, edited by José Romera Castillo and published by Verbum in 2025, brings together twenty contributions from researchers at Spanish, European and American universities on the impact of artificial intelligence on literary creation and the performing arts. Organized into three thematic sections —general legal and theoretical aspects, literature and AI, and theatre and AI—, the volume addresses questions such as algorithmic authorship, AI-assisted literary translation, poetry generation and the incorporation of digital technologies into contemporary dramaturgy. The collection more than fulfils its purpose: not to describe the phenomenon from a distance, but to situate itself within it and think from there.

Author Biography

  • Zoe Martín Lago, International University of La Rioja, International University of La Rioja

    Doctora en Filosofía por la Universidad de Salamanca, con una tesis sobre El teatro de Juan Mayorga: imaginación, memoria y mayéutica, dirigida por el profesor José Luis Molinuevo. Acreditada como Profesora Contratada Doctora, es Subdirectora del Área de Arte de la Facultad de Artes y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR) y profesora del Área de Estética en la Facultad de Filosofía de la Universidad de Salamanca. Es miembro del Grupo de Investigación de Estética y Teoría de las Artes GESTA (Universidad de Salamanca), del Grupo de Investigación MediaArt (UNIR) y del equipo del proyecto ARESTHEA (Acción de Investigación y Transferencia en Estética y Artes Escénicas, 2023–2025). Entre sus publicaciones recientes destacan «Resonancias espectrales: Tadeusz Kantor y Juan Mayorga frente a la memoria y el olvido» (Impossibilia, 2025), «Resistir al vértigo: aceleración y temporalidad en el teatro de Juan Mayorga» (Acotaciones, 2025) y el capítulo «Fricciones de la palabra en El Golem, de Juan Mayorga», en Discursos y estéticas de la fricción (Iberoamericana/Vervuert, 2025). Compagina la investigación y la docencia con la dirección artística de la compañía de teatro La Bulé, con la que ha estrenado seis espectáculos entre 2019 y 2025.
