Resumen

Review of the book Son tus huellas el camino: Antonio Machado en la memoria poética del siglo XX (Madrid, Visor, 2025), by Araceli Iravedra Valea. 

This review examines Araceli Iravedra's Son sus huellas el camino: Antonio Machado en la memoria poética del siglo XX , a monograph tracing the posthumous reception of Antonio Machado across twentieth-century Spanish poetry. The volume brings together twelve revised essays and one new contribution, organized around the distinction between the sociological record of reception and the strictly lyric record of influence. The review highlights the book's methodological rigour, its revisionary readings of the Falangist liberal poets and the social-realist tradition, and its close analysis of figures including Leopoldo Panero, Blas de Otero, Ángel González, the novísimos, Antonio Colinas, and Luis García Montero. Particular attention is paid to the book's treatment of palabra en el tiempo as both poetic concept and living inheritance, and to its final reading of García Montero's "Colliure" as the epitome of a moral and aesthetic genealogy that traverses the century.

    Dr. Cristiana Fimiani, bilingual in Italian and Modern Greek, is Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Spanish Program Coordinator, and Professor of Spanish at the University of The Bahamas, where she directs the international accreditation process for Spanish studies. She teaches upper-level courses in Spanish Language and Linguistics, Cognitive Grammar, Writing, Spanish and Latin American Literature, Culture, Cinema, Spanish and Latin American History, and Hispanic-Caribbean Cultural Studies. She earned her PhD in Hispanic Philology summa cum laude with Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the Universidad de Oviedo (Spain), a MA in Spanish and Latin American Literature from the Universidad de Granada (Spain), a Med in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from Universidad Nebrija (Madrid, Spain), and a MA in Didactics of Latin American Literature from the Universidad de Salamanca (Spain). A member of the Scientific Committees of ALDEEU (Spanish Professionals in America) and liLETRAd International (Academic Journal of Literature, Language and Translation), she specializes in Feminist Hispanic Literature, Postcolonial Studies of the Hispanic Caribbean, Classical Reception in Spanish and Latin American Literature, and Comparative Literature. Her scholarly work appears in Q1-ranked journals indexed in Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus.
