Abstract

The gender gap is an obvious fact within STEM studies. The Spanish case reflects a deep division by gender in access to different professional careers with masculinized enrollments in most of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) degrees and a feminization of the Social Sciences and Humanities degrees.

Behind this division there are social and cultural elements, but there are also other motivations that could be behind the rejection of women to these studies that are going to be widely demanded by the labor market in the future.

The objective of this study is to recognize what elements influence the perception of STEM subjects among women in the specific case of the different University Schools of the Palencia Campus of the University of Valladolid
