Learners’ perceptions of a Physical Education program aimed at promoting healthy physical activity habits: A qualitative study

The aim of this work was to explore Secondary Education learners’ perceptions of a Physical Education program aimed at promoting healthy physical activity habits. 79 learners (54.43% males and 45.57% females, aged 14–16) completed a program consisting of weekly challenges, educational counseling, and the use of activity wristbands. Data were collected through a questionnaire and grouped into nine categories related to program elements, the families, intention to be physically active, and suggestions for improvement. The program appears to have a positive impact on learners’ active habits. The findings provide useful insights for optimizing future interventions.
