The short tragedy named En el otro cuatro, written by Samuel Ros, was performed for the first time in 1940. Today, it and its author seem forgotten by the Literature’s History. This work wants to show the great originality of this tragedy, written into a theatrical wilderness in which the most relevant authors were in exile, imprisoned or buried. The analysis of this symbolist tragedy, with a semiological methodology, is focused on three elements: characters, time and space. Finally, the conclusions show how Samuel Ros is legitimized to claim his place in our Literature’s History.
