In this article, we will analyze the Alternative History or Uchronia, a subgenre of science fiction in vogue in recent years that proposes an alternative reconstruction of History from an initial hypothesis. We will examine what its origin was, what it consists of and what problems it poses. In addition, to deepen, we will use the literary theories of Marie-Laure Ryan that study the relations of the fictional world with the real world. We will finish applying the study to the work of Kasuo Ishiguro, Never let me go.
