The peculiar treatment of time by Espronceda in The Student of Salamanca entails the conjunction of traditional elements and elements that belong to modernity, which in turn leads to the subversion of the formal and ethical values of this work, in connection with the heterodox aesthetic trend that is characteristic of Romanticism.
