Classical Tradition in the Last Spanish Epic? The Mocedades de Rodrigo

The aim of this work, after the justification of the study and the contextualization of the poem in the Cidian cycle, is to approach the next question: the authorship and the epic tradition. Then, it is focused on the traditional motifs and formulas of the oral epic genre, and the materials that reveal his folkloric roots. Finally, two significant motives from the point of view of the classical tradition are studied: the leper and the five fights.
