Abstract

The present article explores not only one of the most deeply-rooted trend in our literary tradition -grotesque realism- but also one of the most fertile in the last Spanish narrative, specially after the publication of La fuente de la edad, by Luis Mateo Díez, and with an enormous range of examples, restricted for the time being to Manuel Talens, Manuel Longares and Fernando Royuela.
