Abstract

In Mitocrítica cultural: Una definición del mito, José Manuel Losada proposes a theory, an epistemology, a methodology and a hermeneutics of myth. The book has two parts: in the first one, he presents the reasons that justify the need for a new mythocritical theory. He also introduces the methodological principles of Cultural Mythcriticism and analyses the factors that affect the understanding and recreation of myths in the contemporary world. In the second part, José Manuel Losada develops the definition of myth, describing its fundamental elements and reflecting on other concepts that condition its configuration and reception.
