The Notions of Poetry and Prose in the Work of Juan Ramón Jiménez from a Perspective of the History of Ideas
Abstract
The intention underlying the present article is to define, within a frame of history of ideas, the notions of poetry and prose in Juan Ramón Jiménez’s output. The article sets off from Jiménez’s own testimonies, which are used to circumscribe the criteria according to which the poet understood the difference between poetry and prose. Secondly, these criteria are inserted into a historical perspective, especially using Romantic literary theory since the hybridisation of verse and prose has its origin in this period.Downloads
