The Misellaneos Volumes and the Beginning of Professional Woman Writer (Juana Manuela Gorriti and Clorinda Matto de Turner)
Abstract
Juana Manuela Gorriti and Clorinda Matto de Turner were Latin American professional writers. They published miscellaneous volumes. These are the symptom of an era, when woman is incorporated as a professional to the world of the press. This article analyse these books that have been the object of the critical forgotten, paying attention to three elements: the different genres, how "nation" is imagined and the "images of women" they produce.
