Academic works about sexuality studies in Federico García Lorca’s work has sprouted in the last few decades. However, there is a lack of researches which, from a non-normative sexuality, connects Lorca with the search for new gender roles and sexuality. Hence, the concept of the darkness, omnipresent element throughout the 1919-1936 drama, will be taken as a subject of research. Both Gender Studies and historical thoughts on homosexuality in pre-gay stage will serve as a guide for this critical rereading.
