This article analysis the Falangist ideology, rhetoric and imaginary expressed in the Spanish novels written by the war veterans of the Blue Division during the 40’s and 50’s. This piece of research focuses particularly on the representation of the War World II, the hero and the archetype of the Falangist soldier devoted to his mission and the images of death of those soldiers on the front line. This representation proves that the writers neglect the realist imaginary to create an idealized and aesthetic representation of death.
