Conservation and reuse of urban architectonic-industrial heritage. Between institutional neglect and voracity for urban development

The Spanish urban development model during the second half of the 20th century caused the loss of a large part of architectonic-industrial heritage in cities due to a lack of awareness of its patrimonial value, inadequate protective legislation and the high strategic value of the sites. The result has been the demolition, or mutilation, of several factories and their reuse within the context of land reclassification urban development strategies in Spanish cities during the last third of the 20th century.
