Contradictory and simultaneous urban processes exist in Bogota, where great urban transformations with socio-space contrasts of great impact for the city are superposed.
A general context of the situation in 2005 is indicated, making evident the elements that structure the model of development, on which the city is formed. The recent processes of transformation, as well as the problems nonsolved and the present contradictions in the social things are indicated.
It is important to warn the lector that this text, because the complexity of the subject, does not try to offer a complete vision. It is probable not to find an optimistic picture of the city development and its possibilities.The text looks for to emphasize some problems present in the city, and over them it can be build a future for Bogota.
