The history of Paris-Jardins in Draveil (France) is, for several reasons, quite singular and outstanding. On one hand, it was a Garden-City promoted within the most strict social economy by a limited cooperative society founded in order to build the HBM, the first one which got the public support of the French Socialists. On the other hand its physiognomy is rather peculiar since the project, due to the architect Jean Walter, took place on the terrains of an eighteenth century chateau, respecting the former construction and the garden frame. Those peculiarities, altogether with the vicissitudes of the iniatitive and the characteristics of the project, are in which the article is focused on.
