In the present article this city is analysed showing it as a city with a high cultural and touristic power because of its cultural heritage, but at the same time with the problem of an important físical and material insuficience of infrastructures. It is emphasized that in this moment the new Urban Plan of Rome is being done and it must be enfocated towards a future perspective, a future that goes fu rther than the Jubileo 2000. It must be reflected on the city future in the time that is permited by the planing.
