In 2011, Madrid's urban society experienced one of the most intense processes of socioeconomic residential segregation in Europe. This research analyzes the evolution of the intensity and form of this segregation during the following decade. It uses territorially disaggregated information from the 2001, 2011 and 2021 censuses. The results show a complex pattern: the dynamics of professionalization favor a social mix between opposing categories. However, the intermediate categories have begun a process of distancing themselves from the more precarious ones, adding a new axis of socio-spatial distance.
