Vernacular architecture is an important part of Cultural Heritage and, as such, appears within heritage and urban policies and regulations. However, it lacks specific conceptualization, which generates many conflicts related to its study and conservation. From a cultural and humanistic perspective, this paper proposes a redefinition of Vernacular Architecture and a methodology for its study according to that meaning.
