The importance of horses in eighteenth-century Spanish society finds reflection in the production of books on the topic. The appalling situation of the equine herd, among others factors, led authors to publish hundred of works related to the equestrian world. The present work analyzes authors, contents, customers and printers of books in an effort to understand how the society of the time viewed horses.
