Abstract

The analysis of the inscriptions on paintings have been outcasted by art historians and palaeographers. With this research we aim to study the writing practices of the painters Paolo de San Leocadio, Nicolau Falcó and Joan de Joanes, both in their artistic and private contexts, in which they demonstrate their knowledge of the practice and its daily use.
