Abstract

The paper analize how the processes of counter-reform and confessionalization launched during the Early Modern Age, especially after the celebration of the Council of Trent (1545-1563), influence the codification of the celebration of funeral honors at the University of Salamanca during the reign of Felipe II (1556-1598) until configuring the origin of the Baroque ceremonial.
