Cosma Raimondi’s Defensio Epicuri: a study and translation

Abstract

The epistle of Cosma Raimondi entitled Defensio Epicuri contra stoicos, academicos et peripateticos is a fundamental document in the history of the debates about the relationship between pleasure and summum bonum in the first half of the Quattrocento. In this article, we propose a study of the context and sources of the letter and a Spanish translation of the complete epistle is included as an annex.
