This article proposes an analysis of the conflicts of jurisdiction at the court of Philip II from a socio-political perspective. The aim is to show that such conflicts made it possible to balance power relationships both between institutions and individuals. Thus, far from constituting an obstacle to good governance, jurisdictional disputes would have allowed to negociate political positions at court.
