The article proposes the idea of blood as social and poetic symbol, basing this analysis on the historical possibilities of the work of Cervantes and his profound moral and realistic position. The blood, with its historical and narrative power, is analyzed from the perspectives of the continuities and ruptures, considering blood as a reference of both life and death (physical and social).
