The present work deals with the study of identity in Hispania, a subject which is in the focus of research. In this first part, the process of creation and transformation of Hispania's identity will be analyzed, taking into account the evolution of the vision that the classical sources had of the Peninsula, from the mythical Iberia of the Greeks to the Hispania province of the Roman Empire, a key moment in the formation of an authentic Hispanic identity intrinsically linked to its role in that Empire.
