Resumen

In this article we intend to make a contribution to the knowledge of the ideas of Julián de Luna y de la Peña, contextualizing them into the economic thought of the nineteenth century. For this, a brief biography is offered of the author, who held two chairs of Political Economy and Agriculture during his lifetime. In addition, we include a concise presentation of his Tratado de Economía Política, written between 1818 and 1848, which has remained unpublished until recently. Despite the various matters addressed in this treaty, we focus on its conception of wealth, which is disconnected from value and material goods, being more related to subjective well-being and to individual and collective happiness with a marked Fourierist influence.
