De stomacho and plagiarism in Constantine the African

In the recent critical edition of the Liber Constantini De stomacho it was shown that this work of Constantine the African was a translation from the Arabic text Kitab al-Mi`da written by Ibn al Gazzar. Constantine appropriated this Arabic work deliberately and named himself as his author. This paper analyses the possible reasons for this.
