Doctor Luis Mercado (1532-1611) wrote some texts about the pulmonary transit of blood, which have been unnoticed up until now. This paper analyses three references and the conclusion is that there is not an epistemic relevance of this blood transit in relation with the Galen tradition. Besides, the historiography on Mercado about this pulmonary transit should be deeply revised because he never clearly rejected this blood flow.
