Abstract

Analysis of the poetic translation ―according to the precepts of the epideictic rhetoric and with thematic borrowings and iuncturae from Vergilian epic― by humanist Juan Cristóbal Calvete de Estrella (Vaccaeis, 2767-3066) of an unpublished Spanish chronicle briefly depicting the jubilant entry of Cristóbal Vaca de Castro as Governor of Peru in Cusco on November 11th 1542.
