Abstract

The Academia Grecolatina Matritense it is not very well known, in contrast to its relative relevance in Spain during the eighteenth Century. We try to offer a complete historical overwiew of the institution, since its beginnings until its complete decline. In a second article, we will make a review of the original documents and modern research about the Academia.
