The votive offering RIB-I, 926, found in the Roman fort of Old Penrith, Britannia, reveals several presumed anthroponyms of Germanic linguistic origin belonging to the offerors of the inscription. This paper aims to analyse two of these Germanic forms, FERSOMẸRIS y VNSENIS, in detail whilst providing their syntactical context. This analysis applies the comparative methodology characteristic of current studies on Indo-European onomastics and identifies formational patterns common to different branches of Indo-European. In addition, other possibilities of onomastic classification for these proper names, as well as some relevant aspects of Germanic and Indo-European phonetics and morphology in general, will be explored.
