Abstract

The use of nouns that assign elements of minimal value is a particularly interesting resource used as a reinforcement of denial. It is a procedure previously known in the Latin language that all the Romance languages have developed. This essay will review some of the questions that this phenomenon shows in the Sephardic language. This article will highlight the terms used, the pragmatic features and the linguistic mechanisms selected by speakers in order to strengthen emotionally their negative statements.
