The article aims to be a starting point in the analysis of the new forms of representing power in contemporary Latin American literature. In this work we will attempt to advance a preliminary analysis of the novel Trabajos del reino by Yuri Herrera with the aim of identifying a possible continuity with the forms of representing power in the nueva novela histórica in order to underline the figures of speech that connect the reader to the interpretation of facts in the contemporary novel.
