This study presents and analysis of the business contacts between Carlos Barral and the literary agent Erich Linder. The aim of this analysis is to study in a detailed way the dynamics that influences the literary and editing act. The analysis demonstrates how economy and power influenced the possibilities of translation of Italian and Spanish books along a few decades of the XXth Century. The documents also testifies about the difficulties that the Spanish literary field had to exceed during Francoism. The results of the analysis offer the possibility of consider in a more detailed way how Spanish literature in translation developed during the past century.
