This work analyses the essays written by Carlos Fuentes. It is structured following a thematic classification developed through the focus on the main ideas of the author and their relationship to some of his most acclaimed novels. The conclusion values these texts not only as a contribution to the thinking of his age but also as an invaluable source to understand and interpret the author's literary creations
