This article focuses on some characteristics of Juan Mayorga’s La lengua en pedazos. The disposition of the materials is based on the intertextuality with the Vidaof santa Teresa de Jesus and other literary and non-literary texts. The dramatist is conscious that the layout of the text can create authentically dialectical messages. This way of constructing the play can raise certain questions about its dramaticity, that is, its theatrical nature, by capturing a narrative discourse on stage.
