This paper focuses on the role played by Manuel Machado in the project of the Revista de la Biblioteca, Archivo y Museo between 1924 and 1925. Our research is based on the unpublished documentation available in the Administrative Archive of the Historical Library of Madrid. During that period, Manuel Machado promoted and coordinated the publication, while serving as director of the Municipal Library of Madrid. The journal was linked to the institution and was intended to disseminate its books and manuscripts to readers. In addition to the management work, Machado collaborated as an author and managed to gather around the magazine a group of leading Spanish intellectuals.
