The objective of this research is to analyze the speech act of complaining, based on comments from Portuguese and Spanish native speakers extracted from the Booking platform. For this purpose, the theoretical basis is the Speech Act Theory, one of the main axes of Pragmatics, focusing on the realization of the expressive speech act of complaining. In order to carry out this study, qualitative, bibliographic and descriptive research has been used. As a result, a certain regularity and similarity in the linguistic-social behavior regarding the speech act of complaint in both languages is perceived, which may be conditioned by the same platform and/or by sociocultural issues.
