Keywords:

Unemployment regulation in European Union law has been materialized on the basis of a coordination technique that doesn´t act on the content of individual national regulations in search of a uniform legislation. It´s indeed configured as a conflict of laws rule, it actually acts on those issues, obstacles or friction areas, which may condition the right to free movement of workers. Given the marked territorial character that characterizes the different national regulations of unemployment benefits, certain provisions contained in the coordination Regulations have often presented a difficult accommodation in the guarantees for the free movement.
This paper provides a study of the specific provisions applicable to unemployment benefit contained in the coordination Regulations, shedding light on the most controversial issues.
