PROTOCOL FOR SELECTION AND RENEWAL OF POSITIONS
The editorial team of the Journal of European Studies consists of its Management, its Editorial Board, its Editorial Committee and its Scientific Council.
The Management and Editorial Board are made up of three members of the Institute of European Studies at the University of Valladolid. The members of the Management and Editorial teams are elected and renewed by the Council of the Institute of European Studies at the University of Valladolid on the basis of their merits and availability. Their main functions consist of establishing the journal's editorial policy, ensuring the required academic quality standards, managing the evaluation and publication of its issues, and ensuring the proper functioning and positioning of the journal and its website.
The Management is responsible for appointing and periodically renewing the members of the Editorial Committee and Scientific Council of the journal.
The members of the Editorial Committee are responsible for conducting the initial selection process for articles received by the journal, in accordance with the double selection and evaluation process described in the section ‘Evaluation and editorial process’ on the ‘Submissions’ page of the journal. The members of the Editorial Committee are chosen on the basis of their CVs and their specific areas of expertise, with a view to covering all the thematic areas of the journal (History, Law and Economics). Efforts will be made to ensure that the Editorial Committee has a gender balance and that a significant percentage of its members belong to institutions outside the University of Valladolid, both national and foreign, in order to guarantee its institutional and geographical diversity. The Editorial Committee will be renewed regularly, as far as possible, depending on the availability of its members to collaborate effectively in the initial selection of articles received by the journal. The members of the Management will actively seek to incorporate leading specialists who are willing to collaborate in this selection process.
