The European Union has included the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development within the priorities of the European Commission. Goal 10.7 sets up a general framework to address the causes of inequalities in migration issues, including those posed by cultural identity. The international standard developed in the universal sphere regarding this right and the inconsistencies of the European standard allow us to observe a gap that must be addressed to reduce inequalities within the EU. The recognition of this right to migrants would facilitate progress with respect to the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda
