Religious Paroemias in Hispanic Cultural Heritage: A Phraseological Study Based on the Refranero multilingüe

This article explores the role of paroemias as manifestations of intangible cultural heritage, with particular emphasis on those of a religious nature. Through an interdisciplinary approach that combines linguistics, anthropology, and theology, the Refranero multilingüe of the Centro Virtual Cervantes has been examined, and all Spanish paroemias containing references to any religious figure or entity have been compiled. The study highlights the importance of preserving this phraseological legacy as a key component of cultural and linguistic identity, underscoring its value as a vehicle for the oral transmission of ethical and religious knowledge within Spanish-speaking cultures.
