THE ADPP: DOCUMENTARY SOURCE FOR THE HISTORY OF EDUCATION

Abstract

This piece aims to display the documentary references regarding Teaching and Education that are located throughout the more than two centuries existence of the Provincial Government of Palencia in the depths of its Archive. All these documents evince the essential role of the Provincial Institution in the educational development of the Province, not only in regard to its direct and collaborating competences with other institutions in terms of Education since the nineteenth century, but also regarding the development of competences inherited from previous institutions. Schools, Instruction and Education Centers, Provincial Establishments of Beneficence, universities, educational programs and policies, subsidies and grants, training and employment…, are part of the functions and activities that can be found in the Archive of the Provincial Government of Palencia, since before its inception until today.
