Precision nutrition in patients with cardiovascular disease
DOI:

Precision nutrition is an emerging approach that adapts diet to the genetic, metabolic, and phenotypic characteristics of each individual, with a particular impact on the prevention and management of cardiovascular risk. Unlike general dietary guidelines, this discipline integrates nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics, identifying genetic variants that influence the response to food. Studies such as Food4Me and PROMET CONNECT have demonstrated that personalized nutritional interventions improve adherence and reduce risk factors. However, implementation faces ethical, technological, and economic challenges, such as access to genetic testing and data privacy.
