Abstract

In this paper we study the translation of philosophical texts. These texts are marked by their deeply ideological character and a nature and function that place their cross-lingual transfer between the literary and the scientific translation. Our objective in this context is to obtain a clear and comprehensive understanding of the historical and cultural importance of the translation of this discursive class, of its definition, its typology and its translational difficulties, with special reference to the problems posed by terminology, due to the fact that this kind of texts combine features of literary and scientific languages.

    Francisco Chico Rico es Catedrático de Teoría de la Literatura y Literatura Comparada en la Universidad de Alicante. Dirige el grupo de investigación TeLiCom. Estudios de Teoría Literaria, Literatura Comparada y Teoría de la Traducción Literaria (Universidad de Alicante) y es miembro del grupo de investigación C[PyR] Comunicación, Poética y Retórica (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid). Entre sus líneas de investigación destacan las referidas a la poética y a la retórica, a la lingüística del texto, a la pragmática literaria, a la traductología literaria, a los estudios empíricos de la literatura y al análisis interdiscursivo, en cuyos ámbitos ha publicado, entre otros trabajos, Pragmática y construcción literaria (1988), La Ciencia Empírica de la Literatura (1995), Retórica hoy (1998) –en colaboración con Tomás Albaladejo y Emilio del Río– y Ciberliteratura y comparatismo (2012), Literatura y espectáculo (2012) y Literaturas ibéricas medievales comparadas (2012) –en colaboración con Rafael Alemany–.
