This study explores the knowledge of a real character who circulates in the novels of El Ruedo Ibérico by Valle-Inclán, an unknown being of whom there was hardly any news of his life. For this reason, his biography is reconstructed in order to clarify to what extent the trajectory of this character fits in with the literary representation that the Galician writer made of him, how he used the data that he came to know about his character, and how he constructed this prototype of a social parasite. But the essential aim of this work is to get to know who Count Blanc, Luis María César de Borbón, was, something that, until now, had not been done. Through bibliographical, newspaper and archive research, it has been possible to elucidate who he was and how he acted before the Spanish royal court.
